What Customers Say About PalmOne Tungsten T2 Handheld:

I am very well pleased with my Tungten T2 for the most part. * It runs The Olive Tree Software Bibles quite a bit smoother than my older Palm Pilots. * The base RAM of 32MB & SD Card slot allow me to load run more Bibles * The faster CPU & color screen also help a great deal. The Docs-to-Go Word & Excel docs are well handled on the screen.I've able to use the T2s BlueTooth functions to share addressbook entries with my phone which allows my phone's addressbook to be backed up.I, however was expecting the computer interface to be a mini USB like on the Tungten E I had earlier.

Everything looks Ok except that I cannot use the botton corner of the screen to use or touch with the pilot because do not work.Seem that the screen must be replaced. How can I have my money back.

I bought this product, but I didn't get the product, the seller didn't deliver, but at least I was refunded.

The T2 is a good unit, better quality display than my T1 that failed. But instead he continued to insist that I had to spend $25 to get help. It was obvious that it had never been used. I recently purchased a brand new Tungsten T2 at auction (the owner had bought but it on advice of his boss, but he never used it). I'm stuck with Palm because all my data and applications are tied to its operating system. If he really doubted me, he could have checked records on the serial number that I gave him, and there would have been no record on support since it was new.

The call center person would not help me, claiming it could not be new because it went out of production three years ago.

However, Palm support, which has never been really great, has deteriorated further. They have obviously outsourced their support, and the call center has hired people who cannot understand the questions even if you speak slowly and clearly.

I repeat, he just hung up.This isn't my first bad experience with their support.

The box was still sealed, and the screen still had the original factory screen protector on it.

When I argued with him on that point that the service should be provided for a new Palm regardless of when it was built he just hung up.

He spent most of the time trying to find some reason to not grant me tech support, doubtless hoping that I'd agree to pay $25 for help.

I explained that I was calling about a new Palm that had never been used.

I think Palm now has a strategy of trying to make the Tech Support a profit center instead of a cost center.

But I certainly cannot recommend it for anyone who has a choice to buy another product.

Keep disks because if you want to add some of the optional features such as reading photographs, you need the disks. The tungsten T2 is not completely reliable but with backups onto my desktop it is a very valuable tool. You get a better desktop. I recommend getting the latest software and downloading it. The tungsten T2 is not perfect but it is good enough that I rely upon it. I was tempted to get a T5 until I read about all the negative reviews. The quality of the transfer is pretty low-I probably have 80 to 90% accuracy which may sound good on paper but one mistake in 10 is a lot of mistakes in a document. I have used the voice recorder to connect to my Dragon NaturallySpeaking-I dictate into the palm pilot and it transcribes into my Dragon NaturallySpeaking.

These units are sufficiently old that you can find decent used ones for less than $100. The voice recorder works most of the time but I frequently do need to do a soft reset to get it to work. The software set up can be somewhat confusing. The processor is sufficiently slow that if you are searching for things in the desktop using the find mode, you must disable searching through the documents or it will take all day. I upgraded from my zire 31 (which I purchased new and it does have a faster processor) because I wanted the voice recorder. Have not figured out any rhyme or reason. I recently connected a foldable keyboard which works nicely (no batteries or infrared-connects through the hot synchronization). I will stay with what I have.
